Education

B.A., University of Colorado, 1978
M.A., University of Kansas, 1981
Ph.D., University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, 1987

Research Interests

Areas of current methodological research interests include: 1) methods in clinical trials including survival analysis, Bayesian clinical trials design, and the use of Markov processes in modeling clinical data; 2) modern regression techniques especially spline methods and tree-structured modeling; and 3) general methodology in longitudinal data analysis.

I am also involved in several large scale collaborative projects. Presently, I am the primary statistician for seven breast cancer treatment protocols for the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) involving over 10,000 patients. In addition, I am the facilitator for NSABP for the biannual external Data Monitoring Committee meetings. In addition to my involvement in breast cancer research, I have collaborated with Dr. Rolf Loeber, who is the principle investigator of large prospective study in delinquent boys. Much of this work involves the analysis of dichotomous and continuous information which is measured repeatedly over time. (Health Sciences Faculty Research Interests Project)
