Faculty Bio - Jong-Hyeon Jeong, PhD
Associate Professor, Biostatistics
Statistician, NSABP

Education

BA, Kang-Weon National University
MA, University of Rochester
PhD, University of Rochester

Research Interests

Dr. Jeong's main research area has been survival analysis and clinical trials. In survival analysis, he has worked on frailty modeling, efficiency of survival probability estimates from the proportional hazards model, weighted log-rank test, competing risks, quantile residual lifetime, and empirical likelihood inference. In clinical trials, he has been involved in several phase III breast cancer clinical trials through the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) as the primary statistician. He has graduated 5 MS and PhD students, and is currently advising 5 PhD students. He has been teaching statistical theory courses and survival analysis. Dr. Jeong holds his PhD degree in statistics from the University of Rochester and has been an elected member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) since 2007.
